Stopped in for lunch one day. The decor is older. The staff is very kind and attentive. The prices are on the high side, but the portions are large enough to share, which helps so I recommend! I tried the Neua Pad Prik which was delicious. They use all fresh ingredients, which is awesome. I had their version of the Tom Kha Gai soup and it was overcooked. The coconut milk had separated from the broth so all I could taste was chicken broth. It had true potential, but was overdone. The spring rolls, I highly recommend! They are a good size, worth the price, fresh, and delish!

Nice enough staff but the food wasn't the best. I went out of convenience and it was too over priced for the quality. Chicken was dry, crab rangoons were over cooked and too greasy. I would not go out of my way to go here again.

This is my go to place for my Thai/Vietnamese fix when at the Ravenel bridge side of Mount Pleasant. Has steady flow of regulars. Casual dress. Awesome food!

I've been eating at Pattaya for almost 17 years. What some do not know is that, this charming Restaurant has a wonderful mix of Thai Vietnamese Cambodian and Laos foods. As an Asian restaurant you will begin to find the unique differences that the owner uses. I drive 550 miles to eat here and will continue to as long as they will share the curry dishes, noodles & soups, salads, drinks, wonderful deserts & spring rolls. Dishes can be fitted to your food needs. Ask, the surprise is special.

I mean, it's edible. But not very tasty. I've been having a hard time finding good Thai since I moved from Atlanta and thought I'd check out this spot near my house. I took a few friends who had never been there either. The staff and decor were very pleasant, but we were all pretty blah about our meal. All of the food seemed sort of beige and didn't have much flavor. Granted I didn't go spicy with my Pad Thai, but I have a feeling spicy would have been a hotter version of flavorless. I say skip it and hit Basil instead. Heck, getting a frozen Thai dish from Trader Joe's would be better than this joint.

Very clean and nice restaurant but this is not Thai food at all, seems like they didn't use any of the standard flavor profiles of thai food, very bland. Served us the rice 10 minutes before our entrees and rice was cold by the time food came. Prices seemed to be in line with Basil which is a much higher end restaurant with tastee dishes. They need to hire a chef or at least someone who knows Thai.

The service was good even though there were only two other tables in the restaurant and the pad thai was ok. It wasn't bad, it wasn't amazing, it was average. It met our hunger needs but is not one of the top thai places in Charleston. The selection was consistent and the service was fast.

If you're looking for authentic, keep going. Had a pho craving, so I stopped by. It's a pretty common item so I thought it was a safe bet. I got a bowl of soup. For any self respecting pho consumer, you know you need your veggies and condiments. I asked for limes, the bare minimum for me as far as greens. Maybe they were out of the typical vegetables, and I didn't want scraps. I could've just been slapped when I asked for condiments and the server looked at me confused. I asked for fish sauce and hot sauce. I ate quickly. Needless to say, it was disappointing. To serve it alone, I thought the broth would have been more flavorful. I'm not sure about what my company had. It was every man for himself at that point. His plate was virtually untouched so I supposed that is an indication. The place was empty, but I have had good luck in dive spots. I tell everyone to skip that place if you want good Thai. It's decor is alright. Two stars cause its definitely Americanized and some people like that. I'd go again. If you treat. And promise to take me to the sub shop a couple doors down afterwards.

I make Thai at home, and it's actually pretty simple. It's like food in any country where most people make very little money. It's mostly the same ingredients, mixed together in different combinations. Once you have the exotic ingredients on hand and master a technique or two, you're in like Flynn. Pattaya chose another course of action. Their Thai falls far below any other establishments in town. Very bland. It was right next to where I worked but we would all drive across the harbor and downtown to get takeout from Basil. No other Thai joints at the time of this posting in Mt. P so you might try it if you really want some Thai and your car is broken down so you can't walk to Basil.
